Biography

Ruth commenced vocal lessons aged nine with the late Daniel Mc Nulty and his wife Ann. As a young soprano she recieved first place in all the junior solo singing compititions including the coveted Rose Bowl. She graduated with a B.Mus (Hons) degree from the Conservatory of Music and drama in Dublin and then a PGDE from N.U.I. Maynooth. As a senior Feis Ceoil competitor she won numerous competitions including the Music lovers Cup for Soprano solo, the Denis O’Sullivan, Ford Taylor prize and the Plunkett Green to name but a few.

She is a frequent solo performer in the National Concert Hall and has performed in Earlscourt London and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also featured on R.T.E radio and television.

In musical theatre she has performed many leading roles including performances in the Rathmines and  Rathgar musical society. She played the part of Maria in Westside Story at the Gaeity Theatre hosted by Jim Molloy productions and also gilbert and Sullivan concerts in the National Concert Hall.

Ruth also enjoys Opera and performed in the production of La Traviata produced by Opera Ireland and staged in the Gaiety Threatre. She played the part of Barbarina in the D.I.T bite sized production of the Marriage of Figaro and Adele in Die Fledermaus at a night at the Opera.

She is a much sought after singer for Weddings and Functions where she also plays the Flute. She was a soloist in the World renouned Burlington Cabaret and also the Taylors Cabaret. She also teaches voice in the Encore School of Performing Arts.
